Theme: Advancing Sustainable Lifestyles through the Arts

Introduction
Are you SDG SmART? Here’s your chance to display your artistic talents and knowledge of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)!

Caribbean Sustainable Environmental Awareness Organisation (CSEAO) in collaboration with the UNDP Small Grants Programme invites members of the public to participate in our Art Contest.

Participants must submit an original piece of art on one or a combination on any of the the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) found here: Learn all about the Sustainable Development Goals here

Individual and Group submissions are allowed, with one submission per group OR individual. Three winners will be selected from among all eligible entries submitted by May 18th, 2018 in the categories of Performing Arts and Visual Arts. A People’s Choice award will also be given based on votes/likes via Facebook. Winners will be announced, and awards presented on June 5th, 2018.

Eligibility
1. The competition is open to all ages.
2. Entrants must be a St. Kitts-Nevis National or Resident

Entry Period
The competition entry period begins March 30th, 2018 and ends on May 18th, 2018 at 3:00pm.

How to Enter
1. To submit your piece visit www.cseao.org complete and submit the registration form provided and upload your work to the upload portal in an appropriate file format (mp4, jpeg, png, pdf)
2. Entries must abide by the full submission guidelines set out below.
3. The submission must consist of a 100-150 word summary along with the digital art piece or a photo/copy of the physical art piece.
4. Physical art pieces must also be dropped off at the Small Grants Programme Office [#12 West Square Professional Offices Bldg, West Independence Square Street, Basseterre, St. Kitts]
5. There is no entrance fee required for this contest.

Submission Guidelines
1. Submit an original piece of art inspired by any of the SDGs
2. All art mediums, including digital art mediums, are allowed.
3. Art pieces can be up to 74cm x 100cm.
4. A copy or photo of all art pieces should be submitted electronically. Electronic submissions should be jpeg, jpg or png.
5. All video submissions of performing art pieces must be in mp4 format and should be 1-10 minutes. Examples can include: Drama, Spoken Word, Dance, Animation. Get creative!
6. All submissions should be accompanied with a 100 to 150 word summary of the art piece.
7. One entry per artist OR group is allowed.
8. Electronic submissions should be uploaded to the portal provided at www.cseao.com
9. Physical art pieces must also be dropped off at the SGP Office by May 18th, 2018 by 3:00pm. The office is location #12 West Square Professional Offices Bldg, West Independence Square Street, Basseterre, St. Kitts]
10. Please ensure physical art pieces are clearly identified on the reverse side with your email address, as provided on the registration form, full name and telephone number.
By submitting an art piece, entrants agree to allow the Caribbean Sustainable Environmental Awareness Organisation and UNDP Small Grants Programme the right to publicize and use the art piece in outreach initiatives. All work will be given full credit to the author.

Tips
1. Do not wait until the last minute to submit your art piece.
2. Research the topics a bit to gain a better understanding of the options provided.
3. Take advantage of the opportunity to utilize multiple topics in your art piece as long as the message is clear and concise.

Evaluation Criteria
Submissions will be assessed on the following criteria. All judging decisions are final.
1. Originality
2. Impact the work has on viewers in relation to the topic
3. Creative expression of the topic/s
4. Overall command of the medium being used
5. Quality of the artistic composition based on the theme
